Welcome to the Sacred Matrilineal Lands of Indigenous Talamanca, Costa Rica
Siwá, in the Bribri & Cabécar language, refers to the wisdom, knowledge, and philosophy to live in peace on this earth. Siwá are deep principles rooted in matrilineal and matriarchal culture that guide us to live in harmony with ourselves, nature, all beings, and within the spiritual realms.

The Se Siwá project is dedicated to sharing the loyalty, dignity, and warmth of our people and lands which have never been conquered, and our spirit that remains undefeated. We reconnect visitors with nature, spirituality, and the wisdom of the Bribri & Cabécar through immersive, authentic, and respectful tourism experiences.

The Se Siwá Cultural Center & Eco Lodge is located 33km from Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, in the province of Límon, Costa Rica.

Sacred Cacao
Cacao is a sacred medicine gifted to the Bribri & Cabécar peoples from before the beginning of time, and is integral to our worldview, philosophy and spirituality. We offer to you Cacao sourced from the hands of a Cacao spiritual leader, in the role of TsirúTami, who has sewn, produced, harvested, fermented, dried and blessed the sacred seeds.
Proceeds from the sale of this Cacao go back into the circular economy of our community, supporting teachers and leaders to continue their important work.

Se Siwá Family
Hi, I’m Gamita your main contact, guide & translator and my sister, Rebecca, prepares and makes all of your meals during your stay at the Eco Lodge and supports cultural experiences such as the cacao and traditional cooking experiences. My father, Hermogenes, is the skilled craftsman who keeps the Eco Lodge & Cultural Center project in good condition.
